2PM stays together as Taecyeon moves to new agency

Taecyeon revealed how he and his members make things work.

After five years, 2PM has finally made a comeback with their new album MUST. It has 10 songs, seven of which were were written or co-written by Jun.K, Taecyeon, and Wooyoung. One of those songs is the title track “Make It.”

In this new era, 2PM is all about trying new things. Taecyeon shared that now that he and his members are in their 30s, they plan to present a new type of sexiness—something different from what they showed in their 20s.

But that’s not all that’s new with 2PM. MUST is their seventh album, but it marks their first time promoting as a group with one member under a different agency. For the uninitiated, Taecyeon left JYP Entertainment in 2018 and signed with 51K, an agency founded by actor So Ji Sub.

According to Taecyeon, 2PM was able to come together for this project because they’re good at communicating with and trusting each other.

“I became part of a new agency, but we always showed consideration and understanding for one another’s situations like a family would. We didn’t just treat each other like colleagues. So even when I left JYP, it wasn’t like 2PM wasn’t 2PM anymore. It’s possible to continue group promotions even after you change agencies, as long as you’re proud of your group and your members are understanding,” he said.
