SEVENTEEN cracks the Billboard charts with latest EP

At long last, Seungkwan’s dream has come true!

During the press conference for SEVENTEEN’s eighth mini album Your Choice, the group's main vocalist and visual Seungkwan said he has always dreamed of making it onto the US Billboard charts.

Well, Your Choice debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart with 21,900 units sold. It placed ahead of Olivia Rodrigo’s SOUR, Taylor Swift’s Evermore, STYX’s Crash of the Crown, and the Taste of Love EP by SEVENTEEN’s fellow South Korean act TWICE.

Your Choice also entered the Billboard 200 Albums chart at No. 15. This chart is a weekly ranking of the 200 most popular albums and EPs in the US. According to Wikipedia, it’s often “used to convey the popularity of an artist or groups of artists.”

Your Choice has taken the world by storm since it dropped last June 18. It sold 880,000 copies on release day, topping the Hanteo Daily Chart in the process. Three days later, it crossed the 1 million mark, making them quadruple million sellers. SEVENTEEN had previously been named triple milion sellers thanks to Heng:garæ, Semicolon, and An Ode.

The album has also earned a double crown on the Gaon charts and ranked high on the Oricon charts. At this point, it's arguably SEVENTEEN's most successful release to date. What makes it even more impressive is that it's showing no signs of stopping. Can you say "juggernaut"?

Unfortunately, the members of SEVENTEEN have been unable to begin promotions for Your Choice. They all went into quarantine after exposure to COVID-19. They’ve all tested negative for the virus, but they’ll remain in isolation for a little while longer just to be safe. When they’re cleared to return to work, you can be sure they’ll celebrate their latest achievement in style!
