Yoo Ah In Reflects On His 18-year Acting Career

He is, indeed, already a veteran in this industry.

Yoo Ah In recently spoke with Wikitree in a video interview regarding his latest drama series, 'Hellbound,' as well as his acting career.

Yoo Ah In made his acting debut as an extra in the drama 'Honest Living' in 2004 and went on to star in the sitcom 'Sharp.' He will be celebrating his 18th anniversary of his debut this year. In this interview, he discussed his thoughts on his nearly 20-year acting career, as well as how his attitude toward performing has changed over time.

"I don't think I've ever regretted the work I've done," the actor said, "and I've always thought favorably about the influence I have on the work I do."

"Once a piece of work is shown to the world, the actor's performance or the message can spread indiscriminately without the creator's control over it," he said, "and I think about how even a good message can be perverted and cause influence, which makes me think about the work I do again."

He also drew attention by citing the example of the film 'The Throne.' "I heard that some mothers who saw 'The Throne' took on the message, 'This is what happens if you don't study,' and interpreted the film to their children, 'You can't be like the crowned prince like that.' I heard they pushed the students to study by using that as an example, and I was so shocked," he explained. I discovered it's quite simple for people to misinterpret [the picture] in ways that aren't meant."

"I'm not saying I'd strive to apply maximal control," he explained, "but there's a minor difference in that there's a small doubt in the work that I do. I suppose I've come to see the diversity in things that I thought only good of," he added.
