NCT Jaehyun's Drama Remake Canceled

They ran into an issue with the original writer and they decided to respect it.

Production on the drama remake of "Bungee Jumping of Their Own" has been halted due to budgetary constraints.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that NCT's Jaehyun had been cast in the role of Im Hyun Bin in a drama adaptation of the 2001 film, with Lee Hyun Wook confirmed to play Seo In Woo.

According to Kakao Entertainment's announcement on December 9, the production has been canceled. "During the course of preparing for production, the scenario writer for the original film expressed concerns," the company explained.

"All rights for derivative works, including remakes, belong to the production company (Choice Cut), so there are no issues with carrying out the production," Kakao Entertainment continued. However, after much deliberation, the final decision was reached to halt production in order to respect the writer's viewpoints."

It was originally intended to be a film about high school teacher Seo In Woo (Lee Byung Hun), who is struggling to come to terms with the death of his girlfriend In Tae Hee (Kim Soo Hyun), who died in a car accident (Lee Eun Joo). The plot of the film revolves around what happens when he meets a male student named Im Hyun Bin (Yeo Hyun Soo), who has similar characteristics to In Tae Hee.
