On Thursday, December 9, news about the merging of entertainment agency Hook Entertainment and production company Chorokbaem Media were released to the public. The announcement of the new partnership came as a surprise because Hook Entertainment has been branching out to different
Hook Entertainment is the home to several A-list actors such as Oscar winner Yoon Yuh Jung, legendary singer Lee Sun Hee, and famed actor Lee Seo Jin, and is currently in a partnership with their longtime artist, Lee Sung Gi. Chorokbaem Media, meanwhile, was created in 1998 and has produced successful dramas such as "Jumong", "High Kick!", "My Mister", "The Slave Hunters, "Memories of the Alhambra", and the highly successful SBS drama "The Penthouse".
Hook Entertainment has also branched out into content production. It has produced the SBS' golf variety show "Team Up 072" season two and KBS' travel documentary "Can't Help But Stop Once". It has also been revealed that the agency is currently active in planning the TV shows that their in-house artists will be appearing on. Apart from that, Hook Entertainment also recently acquired the cable channel K-Star. Due to thses recent moves, Hook Entertainment has impliedly announced their intention of moving into the area of content and intellectual property.
