Park So Dam's agency, Artist Company, released an official statement about the actress's health on December 13th. Park So Dam was diagnosed with thyroid cancer, according to the statement, and had surgery as recommended by a healthcare specialist. The whole statement can be found below:

"During a routine physical examination, actress Park So Dam was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and had surgery as recommended by her doctor.

The actress regrets that she was unable to attend the premiere of 'Special Cargo,' which she had been looking forward to. Park So Dam is unable to participate in the promotion of the film 'Special Cargo,' but she is enthusiastic about the premiere.
