In collaboration with the Whosfan app, Hanteo chart will launch the first-ever '2021 Hanteo Music Awards' ('HMA').
The '2021 Hanteo Music Awards,' which will be held as a digital ceremony this year owing to the proliferation of COVID-19, will present the winners of six special award categories exclusive to the Hanteo chart: The Artist Award The Rookie Award The Whosfan Fandom Award The Special Award The First Week Sales Record Award
The First Week Sales Record Award, as the name suggests, will be granted to the artist who sets the highest first-week sales record in 2021. The Musician Award will be granted to the artist who had the biggest impact on the success of the music business in 2021, while the Rookie Award will be handed to the finest new artist who represented 2021. The Special Award considers worldwide user statistics from the Hanteo chart, as well as fan votes cast via the Whosfan app. Finally, the Whosfan Fandom Award is decided entirely by fans and is granted to both the artist and their fanclub in recognition of their online strength.
According to a Hanteo chart spokesperson, "By initiating this year's award ceremony, we intend to set a new milestone within the Korean music business based on justice and loyalty, traits that have been developed throughout the last 30 years of the Hanteo chart. There will be no large-scale event this year because to the COVID-19 epidemic, but we want to connect with worldwide K-Pop lovers and rejoice together in the future."
