Ahead of Girls Planet 999’s official unveiling on July 8, here are some of the girls who reportedly made it onto the show and will be competing for one of the nine spots in the debut lineup.
Chen Xinwei
Her stage name is Vivi and she’s in DAYLIGHT, a pre-debut quintet under Yuehua Entertainment. She was also on Youth With You 2.
Cui Wenmeixiu
This promising young woman is signed to Jaywalk Newjoy, a subsidiary of Chinese entertainment and media company Jiaxing Media, aka Jay Walk Studio. She was on Produce Camp 2020; you can see her at the start of this prank video. You can also check out her fancams here and here.
Shen Xiaoting
This TOP CLASS Entertainment trainee made quite a splash on Produce Camp 2020 because of her flexibility. Watch it in full display by checking out her dance video and fancam.
Su Ruiqi
EMT Skies trainee Su Ruiqui was on Produce Camp 2020. She made it all the way to the finale but finished in 11th place and failed to debut. She’s a very good dancer. Watch her move to the Britney Spears classic “Hold It Against Me” here. She’d be perfect for a girl crush concept.
Wang Yale
Another Jaywalk Newjoy trainee, she won the hearts of Youth With You 2 viewers because of her unique vocals. Check out one of her covers here.
Xu Ziyin
This trainee from Hot Idol Entertainment was on Youth With You 2, the show that BLACKPINK’s Lisa was a mentor on. She has a very impressive voice thanks to her classical training. She passed the auditions for Cube Entertainment, JYP Entertainment, and SM Entertainment, but decided not to sign with any of them in order to put her studies first. Zhuang Luofei
Her agency Gramarie Entertainment is known for hip-hop and rap, similar to Korea’s Brand New Music and Cube Entertainment. Zhuang Luofei and her labelmate Fu Yanling auditioned for Youth With You 2 together. See them perform for that show’s judges’ panel here. Fu Yanling is supposedly going to compete on Girls Planet 999 as well, but there’s not much to be found on her no matter how hard you look on the internet. Oh well.
Aside from the aforementioned Chinese trainees, some members of the C-pop girl group SNH48 supposedly auditioned for Girls Planet 999. It’s unknown whether they made the cut or not.
Korean trainees who reportedly tried out include Cherry Bullet members Bora and Jiwon, CLC’s Choi Yujin, and Bahiye Huening (see above), the younger sister of Tomorrow x Together member Hueningkai—whose birth name happens to be Kai Kamal Huening.
