Park Eun Bin recently sat down with Esquire Korea for a photoshoot and an interview.

"I never even imagined of being able to portray the role of crown prince," Park Eun Bin remarked during the interview when asked why she chose to take on her role in ‘The King's Affection.’ “While reading the script, I couldn't believe I'd be playing this part. I'm glad the drama ended successfully, and I'm pleased with the result."

"I heard that people were going crazy about the preview video," she said when asked about the comments she received from viewers when the drama's teaser video was released. After seeing how short I am, I was wondering whether they were insane."

Park Eun Bin also discussed the various filming techniques employed in the drama. The identical shots were shot many times from various angles and then edited together. "I think this is a fantastic concept. It was a method of being able to capture all of the small nuances. I had some challenges because I had a number of sequences where I had to holler. Filming these scenes several times was difficult, but it was a challenge I had to face."

Park Eun Bin also talked about her career as an actress. "I've always like acting, but I've always wondered if it was the proper road for me because I've always been an introvert. There were also a lot of talented folks in my immediate vicinity. When I went to university, I was able to figure out who I was. I've always wanted to explore a variety of things, and I've discovered that acting is a great opportunity to accomplish just that. That's when I realized I was on the correct track."

"I did and it was nice to watch," Park Eun Bin responded when asked if she had seen ‘The King's Affection.’ “However, instead of enjoying myself when I watch myself behave, I worry a lot because I'm thinking about how other people will react to the drama. I can't watch dramas or films in which I'm not starring because it makes me nervous. That's why, in my spare time, I don't watch anything."

"I'm not the type of person who goes out a lot," she continued, reflecting on the success of ‘The King's Affection.’ “When people ask whether I'm Park Eun Bin, I just respond, 'No, I'm not Park Eun Bin.' This is why I didn't understand how popular the drama was."

"Some people believe me, and others simply pretend to believe me," she joked when asked if people believe her when she tells them she isn't Park Eun Bin. “If someone discovers that I lied, I apologize and explain that I was simply flustered and made a mistake. Because I'm such a shy person, I guess I just reply by pretending that I'm not who I say I am. I don't want to be the focus of attention; instead, I'd rather hide."

The actress also discussed the importance of maintaining a healthy work-life balance on set. "I try to maintain a decent atmospheric balance on set because I feel like I should be playing that part. That, I believe, is one of my assets. In whatever setting, I'm always able to find that equilibrium."

The full interview with Park Eun Bin will be available in the January 2022 issue of Esquire Korea.
