Nam Yoon Su, star of "The King's Affection," recently took part in a photo shoot and interview for Cosmopolitan!

"At first, I had no idea how to deliver my lines and I felt at a lost," the actor said of his first experience performing in a historical drama. I attempted to operate with the idea of 'doing things my way,' but I don't think I was successful at first. My time on set increased in the second half of the drama, and I believe I immediately adjusted to the role. I got to the point where I could film whatever scenario I needed right away."

Nam Yoon Su portrayed Lee Hyun in "The King's Affection," a guy who gave his all despite the fact that he knew his love would never be returned. His one-sided passion strained his relationship with his best friend Jung Ji Woon (SF9's Rowoon).

When presented with a dilemma between love and friendship, Nam Yoon Su examined his options. "I suppose I would choose friendship over love, just like Lee Hyun did," he said. "Since it's a love that can't be reciprocated, I'd wish the couple happiness and be content to remain friends."

Nam Yoon Su had to spend a lot of time in a hanbok (traditional Korean attire), which usually comprises of two to three layers, as is customary in historical plays. "Even though we filmed in the middle of summer, I didn't sweat much and felt good," he said. “Because other cast members constantly utilizing fans to cool down due to the heat, I assumed I was the right kind for hanbok."

When questioned about additional parts he'd like to try, Nam Yoon Su replied that he'd like to play a villain. "I want to try playing a merciless character, someone who you have no idea what's going on inside their head," he explained. “When people see me, they often say, 'He's laughing, yet he's scary.' I'm not sure why!”

Nam Yoon Su began his career as a model in 2014 before transitioning to acting in 2018. "I first aspired to be a model when I was in middle school," he said, reflecting on his professional journey thus far. “I was about 170 centimeters (5 feet 7 inches) tall at the time, and I steadily got taller than the older classmates. I started acting because it was something I wanted to do. I used to take on jobs in music videos as a model and think to myself, 'It'd be nice if I could act, too.'"

Nam Yoon Su previously appeared on the variety show "Home Alone," during which he showed viewers how he spends his time at home. "I think I've had a solid level of competence since the beginning," the actor stated in response to a query about how his "living alone" skills have developed. So far, I don't believe I've had any unpleasant experiences."

"I didn't spend much time at home while filming 'The King's Affection,' but now that it's over, I've been trying to remain at home as much as possible," he stated. “I'm catching up on sleep and cooking for myself on occasion."

Nam Yoon Su also discussed his two cats, Chacha and Bobo, which he acquired almost two and a half years ago. "I'd always wanted a cat since I was a kid," he explained, "but my father urged me to wait and raise one until I was older." "Now my parents tell me that their house feels empty when my pets aren't there." I'm not sure I can bring them back to my place."

"I go to see the cats when I don't have filming," the actor continued, "but I don't think they recognize me because it's been so long. Rather of feeling angry or deceived, I felt compelled to cry. It was an odd experience. Why wouldn't they know who I am?”

"I hope that I can work harder and enjoy myself while doing so," Nam Yoon Su said at the end of his interview to his future self. “I want to take care of myself so that I don't wonder why I'm putting in so much effort on things."
