Gaon Releases 2021 Year-End Album and Digital Charts

Which among the songs and albums on the list did you listen to the most in 2021?

Gaon has released their 2021 year-end charts!

Gaon revealed its annual album, digital, download, and streaming charts for 2021 on January 7.

Albums and singles released earlier in the year have more weekly scores included in their results, as the yearly rankings are based on collected weekly data since the beginning of January 2021.

 

ALBUM CHART

With 2,999,407 copies sold for their single album "Butter," BTS topped the album chart for 2021.

NCT swept the next three spots on the chart, with NCT 127's "Sticker" coming in at No. 2 with 2,427,559 copies and NCT DREAM's "Hot Sauce" coming in at No. 3 with 2,097,185 copies.

With 2,059,073 copies, SEVENTEEN's "Attacca" came in fourth, and NCT's "Universe" came in fifth with 1,630,715 copies.

DIGITAL CHART

On the total digital chart for 2021, IU took two of the top five spots: her smash single "Celebrity" was at No. 1, followed by her title track "LILAC" at No. 4.

On the total digital chart, Brave Girls' "Rollin'" landed in second, followed by BTS' "Dynamite" at third. The top five for 2021 were filled out by aespa's "Next Level."

 

Except for aespa's "Next Level" at No. 4 and IU's "LILAC" at No. 5, the top five songs on the year-end streaming chart were nearly identical to those on the overall digital chart.

 

Lim Young Woong's songs "My Starry Love" and "Love Always Runs Away" swept the top two spots on the digital download list for 2021, with "My Starry Love" coming in first and "Love Always Runs Away" coming in second.

With "Antidote" at No. 3 and "PARANOIA" at No. 4, Kang Daniel took the following two slots on the chart. The top five was rounded off by BTS's "Butter."
