GOT7's BamBam Drops 'Slow Mo' M/V, Talks About New Mini Album 'B' and More

The soloist and GOT7 member also revealed the pressure of going solo.

BamBam of GOT7 conducted an online press conference for the release of his second mini album "B" on January 18!

"I painstakingly prepared," BamBam said. After the surprising success of my previous album, I was able to comfortably prepare this one. He launched the album by saying, "I attempted to express my own world. I'm apprehensive, but it's an album I'm personally satisfied with." It's akin to an album that depicts my story and my hues."

The title track "Slow Mo" appears on the album "B," which also includes the pre-release single "Who Are You" and four b-sides. "It's a story that continues from 'Who Are You," BamBam said of the title track. "It encompasses the idea of accepting my alter ego, creating our own universe inside that, immersing into and influencing one another, and defining my particular color."

BamBam is identified as a lyricist on five of the six tracks on "B," of which he says, "I primarily shared what I wanted to say." It could be something I've always wanted to say but couldn't, or a color I've always wanted to try but am only doing now. The plot follows the album's rhythm."

"I felt pressure surrounding whether I'd do as well as 'riBBon' and whether people would offer me that same kind of affection," BamBam said of his first solo album's popularity. I hope many people would enjoy ["B"] because it is an album that I really enjoy."

"I hope many people are interested in my performance because I adore dancing and was also the lead dancer in GOT7," he continued. I'd also like for more people to recognize BamBam as an artist and for my musicality to be recognized."

BamBam also talked about advertising herself as a Thai-born K-pop artist. "I was able to promote comfortably because [2PM's] Nichkhun prepared the road," he said. It doesn't matter that I'm from Thailand; it'll be fantastic if my music can provide you with wonderful energy."

"For starters, it's a benefit that I can make the songs I want to make," BamBam said of continuing his solo adventure without his GOT7 comrades. For the first time in a long time, when we market as GOT7, I'll be able to show off GOT7's image. On the other hand, there is some strain, and I do get lonely from time to time. I could also disguise the areas of my work that I wasn't secure in when I was promoting in a team. Now that I'm on my own, I feel compelled to make everything perfect. However, I see it as an opportunity to learn and improve."

"The GOT7 members give a lot of comments in our group chat," he continued. 'When are you going to make a comeback?' is the most frequently asked question. I didn't play them my music because I wanted to surprise them, and we've even said things like 'Let's not overlap [promotions].' We also discuss GOT7 promotions a lot."

"Our eighth anniversary was two days ago," BamBam continued. We were unable to meet in person, but we were able to communicate via live broadcasts. I even wrote a song about GOT7 while thinking about it. I have an idea when it will be launched, but I can't tell when."

"In the future, I want to promote with a wide variety of activities, so please look forward to it," BamBam said. I intend to accomplish it in a fun way. I'll keep working hard and doing well in the future."
