Fan Bingbing to Appear on Korean Drama for the First Time

This is the first time the Chinese superstar will appear in any Korean drama.

"Insider," a new Korean drama series from JTBC, will include Chinese movie sensation Fan Bingbing in her maiden Korean drama appearance.

Local cable channel JTBC said that the filming of Fan's portions in the series had recently been finished, according to the station.

The broadcaster did not specify if the actor is making a cameo appearance or whether he is playing a supporting part in a modest production.

According to a JTBC official, "Even though the actor has joined 'Insider,' precise information on Fan Bingbing's part has yet to be divulged, as it is intimately tied to the plot and storyline of the series," the official said in an interview with The Korea Herald published on Monday.

While performing an undercover investigation, the protagonist of the action thriller "Insider," portrayed by Kang Ha-neul, falls into a state of despair, which leads to the creation of the film. The series depicts the protagonist's attempt to reclaim his former life as a regular person.

Kang and Lee Yoo-young, who will appear in the JTBC's next series, are quickly returning to the small screen following their most recent series on KBS, "River Where the Moon Rises" (2021) and "Drama Special: Traces of Love" (2021), respectively.

The Japanese Broadcasting Corporation (JTBC) announced in January that "Insider" will be published in the first half of the year. However, the exact release date, as well as the number of episodes, have not yet been disclosed.

Fan recently made her return to the big screen with the Hollywood action-thriller "355", her first film in four years and her first appearance in a Hollywood production.
