It was confirmed that IU was working on her '2022 Concert,' which was set to take place at the Jamsil Olympic Stadium.
Wikitree investigated the 'Seoul Public Communication Plaza,' a Seoul-based information disclosure mechanism, on February 22 and confirmed that IU had canceled her planned concert for this year.
The agency in charge, the Seoul Sports Facility Management Office, issued a statement saying, "Cancellation of approval for the use of Jamsil Olympic Stadium and reimbursement of usage fees (2022 IU Concert)."
In the official document, the Seoul Sports Facility Management Office stated, “Article 11(4) of the Ordinance on the Installation and Operation of Sports Facilities in Seoul (Return of Fees). Due to unavoidable reasons such as natural disasters, games or events were not held because the use of the facilities became impossible. If it is not possible, the entire usage fee and admission fee will be refunded.”
"The request from them (IU's side) came in and we took care of the administrative process," a Seoul Sports Facility Management Office representative told Wikitree the same day.
According to this, IU was planning a '2022 concert' in Seoul's Jamsil Olympic Stadium, but it appears to have been canceled because to the severity of the COVID-19 outbreak in Korea.
IU did not officially divulge the plans for the '2022 concert' until recently, so fans were likewise unaware of the performance's details.
Wikitree reached out to IU's agency, Edam Entertainment, for a statement on this, but did not receive one.
