Former IZ*ONE members Miyawaki Sakura and Kim Chae Won inked exclusive contracts with HYBE Labels' subsidiary Source Music on March 14th. "Both performers have signed their contract on the basis of mutual trust," Source Music said at the time. "They will be launching at the first new girl group under partnership between Source Music and HYBE labels." We respectfully want your support and excitement for two musicians who will be showcasing their new sides."
We have a new update a week later! A media site stated on March 21 that the aforementioned girl trio is now practicing in preparation for their May debut. "The first girl group founded under HYBE Labels with Kim Chae Won and Miyawaki Sakura is preparing with a goal to debut in May," Source Music confirmed. "Their debut timetable will be publicized after it is confirmed," the agency added.
Miyawaki Sakura is a singer, model, and actress from Japan. Miyawaki Sakura debuted in South Korea in 2018 as part of the Japanese-South Korean project girl group IZ*ONE after finishing second in the survival reality television show Produce 48. She was a former first-generation member of the Japanese idol girl group HKT48. Kim Cha eWon is a South Korean singer-songwriter who made his debut with IZ*ONE alongside Miyawaki Sakura after placing tenth in Produce 48.
After their special contract expired in April 2021, IZ*ONE disbanded. Following that, Miyawaki Sakura and Kim Chae Won will form a new female group under the Source Music and HYBE labels. Keep an eye out for additional information!
