2AM Talks About Their Comeback, Legacy, and More

It is their first group comeback after seven years.

2AM took part in a press conference to promote the release of their new album, "Ballad 21 F/W".

2AM's first comeback in seven years is "Ballad 21 F/W." In 2014, they released the studio album "Let's Talk Together," which was their last collaboration.

"After COVID-19 was released, I spent a year creating and producing songs," Changmin explained. The tunes I prepared back then are slowly making their way out today. My heart is thumping as someone who has been waiting for 2 a.m. for a long time. I'm also one of the 2AM supporters that has been waiting for us to return to the stage." “While rehearsing for 2AM, I also recorded dramas and variety shows,” Seulong explained. Reuniting is a joyous, appreciative, and treasured event. We hope that the music that we have prepared would be well received."

"After I was discharged from the military, I moved immediately into acting in the musical 'Jamie,'" Jo Kwon said. In addition, I had a YouTube account and performed in variety events. I've temporarily put my shoes away and returned to 2AM with a gentler image after completing a special performance on Mnet's 'Street Woman Fighter.' I'm both frightened and delighted since it's our first comeback in seven years."

"Like the title 'F/W,' it's a compilation of ballads that will make your heart feel warm," Changmin remarked of their new album. We wanted to remind people of the '2AM' genre. You'll be able to experience its great quality because it's packed with music from the top producers."

Bang Si Hyuk and Park Jin Young, who worked with 2AM when they were contracted to JYP Entertainment, created the two title tunes. "We were the first group to be termed 'ballad idols' under Park Jin Young and Bang Si Hyuk's production," Jo Kwon remarked. We recreated the atmosphere of those times, as well as 2AM's distinct emotionality. It's an album that embodies our 2AM persona. It's our first album in a long time, so it's just as valuable and welcoming to the audience as it is to us."

"They gave us a lot of affection, just like they did in the past," Changmin added. I was moved to see them collaborate with us till the very end of the shoot. We've been together for 14 years, yet in their eyes, we're still kids with a lot to learn. They handed us tunes that the audience would like as two producers that may be deemed to represent our country."

"They provided us the songs, instructed and led us directly during the recording process, and showed us their care and enthusiasm even during the mixing and mastering process," Seulong added. We were able to relive the same feelings we had when we were always marketing together. I'd want to express my gratitude to them once again here."

In addition, the group discussed how they wanted to be known in the future. Changmin commented, "I really like the line, 'it's very much like 2AM.'" "I want us to be able to express our own color more so that we can deserve that name," she says. "Park Jin Young and Bang Si Hyuk branded us so that we could perform modern and refined ballads," Seulong explained. I want to do a good job on that journey and present them wonderful music."

"I want people to see us as cool on our own, but always live up to our reputation when we join together," Jo Kwon added. They're not a band that gets together simply because they're missed, but because they're that excellent. I want us to spend a long time together and for others to say things like, 'As predicted, it's 2AM.'" "I want us to be remembered artists," Jinwoon stated, "much like seasons make you think of various things."
