'Nevertheless' Records Low Ratings on Second Episode

Song Kang and Han Sohee's JTBC drama Nevertheless continues to disappoint audiences with its abysmal ratings on its second episode, therefore casting doubts on the actors' capabilities to lead a drama in the future.

Song Kang and Han Sohee's drama Nevertheless continues to disappoint its viewers with low ratings, and no improvement from the pilot episode last week.

The second episode of the drama gathered an average of 1.3% nationwide and 1.2% in the Seoul Metropolitan area, a sharp decline from the 2.2% nationwide ratings and 2.5% ratings in the Seoul Metropolitan area. They also did not do well on the Netflix Top 10 rankings in the Korean branch of the streaming service, dropping out of the top 10 after a week.

Some of the reasons why the drama suffers from poor ratings, even from a cable channel perspective, is largely attributed to the cast, mainly towards Song Kang and Han Sohee. Viewers have continued to show their disappointment because of Song Kang's lack of variety in acting, the quality of the plot itself, and the confusion regarding Song Kang's character, indicating a sense of disconnect between the actors and the characters in the drama.

Nevertheless is about art school classmates who are cynical in love and relationships due to their past experiences, therefore entering a friends-with-benefits relationship. The previous episode was rated 19+. It airs on Netflix and other OTT channels, but it airs in JTBC in Korea.
