Jung Hae In Talks About His New Upcoming JTBC Drama

The actor shared details about his chemistry with BLACKPINK's Jisoo in their upcoming JTBC drama "Snowdrop"

Jung Hae In is no stranger to being paired with popular women in TV dramas. For his past dramas, she co-starred with Suzy, Son Ye Jin, Han Ji Min, Chae Soo Bin, and this time, it's BLACKPINK's Jisoo.

Their upcoming drama, "Snowdrop", will be directed and written by the people behind top JTBC drama, "SKY Castle". Set in Seoul in 1987, it tells the romance between Su Ho (played by Jung Hae In), a student at a reputable university who suddenly barges into a women's university dorm covered in blood one day, and Young Ro (played by BLACKPINK's Jisoo), a student at the women's university who found him and decided to hide him and take care of him even while facing danger under close scrutiny.

Jung Hae In revealed in an interview that he decided to star in the show because of the director. "The story of the show is charismatic and the character I will be portraying is a challenge but in the end, I decided to appear in the drama because of the director. His conviction in this project and the unfathomable trust he had in the Su Ho I would portray were the reasons why I was able to work efficiently while filming it.," the actor said.

On further explaining his character, he shared that, "I think he is an individual who possesses incredible leadership qualities. He loves and takes good care of his family and friends and his firm conviction when it comes to acting on his beliefs are admirable." He told the interview that he focused a lot in order to internalize and outwardly portray the process of his beliefs shattering in front of him while feeling conflicted on his future actions between a certain situation he cannot help and the woman he loves.

While filming on set, Jung Hae In said, "Because of the nature of the character, he had to look adept in using a gun and showcasing action stunts. So in order to make my movements and the scenes itself look more natural, I always carred with me a prop gun even while I was doing nothing and only waiting on set. I put in a lot of effort to get used to it. Out of all the characters I have played in my life until now, it was with Su Ho's character that I had to build my body the most. I waas on a strict diet and exercised all the time. I even stored equipments for exercising in the waiting room."

As for his chemistry with BLACKPINK's Jisoo, the actor revealed, "I honestly felt that Jisoo herself is Young Ro. She was not acting at all. How she portrayed the character was amazing. I was surprised to see her understanding and absorbing the directions of the director on set. While acting together, I noticed that our chemistry is amazing. Apart from that, she is very friendly to everyone. Her strength as an actress lies in her consideration for others."

Jung Hae In picked the drama's storyline, the different genres within one project, and the superb acting of the cast members as the compelling points to look out for while watching the drama. He shared his hopes for the viewers to attune to the situations unfolding when Su Ho endangers himself as he gets pushed to his limits. "He will then meet a woman named Eun Young Ro who will make him feel loved but will struggle to express his love for her."

Other than Jung Hae In and Jisoo, the drama is filled with high-calibre actors and actresses such as Yoo In Na,Yoon Se Ah, Jung Yoo Jin, Jang Seung Joo, Kim Hye Yoon, and many more.

"Snowdrop" will air on December 18, Saturday, at 10:30PM KST.
