CL has finally talked about the exact moment when she found out that her group, 2NE1, is disbanding.

“My colleague interviewed Minzy ages ago, and she said that she found out about the disbandment through media. How did you find out?,” the interviewer asked CL during a recent interview with AP Entertainment.

“I was at a Thanksgiving dinner, and my phone blew up,” singer said, looking sad as she confirmed she'd first learned the news through the media. “But yeah, those situations… That was very heartbreaking for me.”

“But like I said, now I have a lot of freedom and control over at least what I choose to do,” she added, “so it’s a very exciting chapter for me.”

2NE1 officially disbanded in November 2016 after seven years of being together as a group. However, in the years after the separation, the four members have frequently expressed their desire to reunite for a new album at some point in the future.
