Cre.Ker Entertainment and Play M Entertainment will be merged into one company by the end of the year. Both agencies are currently divisions of Kakao Entertainment, which officially announced a merger between the two labels on September 17.
Apink, VICTON, Weeekly, and Huh Gak are among Play M's performers, while THE BOYZ are signed to Cre.Ker Entertainment.
According to Kakao, the two firms' boards of directors met separately and agreed to the merger, which is expected to happen by the end of the year. The newly merged firm will be led by Play M Entertainment CEO Jang Hyun Jin and Cre.Ker Entertainment CEO Yoon Young Ro. The new agency's name and further information about the merger will be published at a later date.
While independently reinforcing each label's core strengths, both Play M and Cre.ker Entertainment will work closely with each other (both Play M and Cre.ker Entertainment) to create a powerful integrated synergy and expand the company's (them and Kakao Entertainment) influence across a wide variety of genres, according to Kakao Entertainment. They'll keep making these kinds of improvements to their multi-label system to keep up with the competition in the music industry.
Cre.Ker and Play M both occupy floors in the Star Hill Building that they also share with Starship Entertainment and Kingkong by Starship, two other labels included in the Kakao Entertainment umbrella.
