Data Deletion
Three ways to remove your data from KWAVE, plus what we can and cannot delete.
01
In-product (recommended)
The fastest path. Sign in and use the relevant Settings page — deletion is processed immediately, no email round-trip.
- Disconnect a single platform — Settings → Connectors → choose the provider → Disconnect. The OAuth token is purged from our database within seconds. Posts already published to that platform stay in the platform (we cannot reach into your account once the token is gone).
- Delete a company workspace — Settings → Workspace → Delete. Cascades through every agent, connector token, audit row, and stored asset for that workspace.
- Delete your KWAVE account — Settings → Account → Delete. All workspaces, tokens, and personal data are removed within 30 days. Billing records may be retained longer where tax law requires it.
02
Platform-initiated (Meta)
If you delete your Facebook account, or remove the KWAVE app under Facebook → Settings → Apps and Websites, Meta sends us a signed deletion request. On receipt we:
- Verify the signature with our app secret.
- Identify all OAuth tokens and cached account identifiers tied to that user.
- Delete them within 30 days.
- Return a confirmation URL and tracking code to Meta so you can verify deletion progress in the same place you initiated it.
Same flow applies to Instagram accounts that are linked to a deleted Facebook account.
03
Email request
If you cannot sign in (account locked, lost access, billing dispute) or you specifically need a paper trail, email info@kwave.ai from the address tied to your account. Please include:
- The email you signed up with.
- Which workspaces and platforms to delete (or "everything").
- Whether you want a JSON export of your data before deletion.
We respond within 5 business days and complete deletion within 30 days. We may ask you to verify ownership of the account before processing.
04
What gets deleted
- OAuth access and refresh tokens for every connected platform.
- Cached account identifiers (page id, channel id, Instagram business id, display names).
- Action audit log rows tied to your company.
- Agent state, knowledge entries, and uploaded assets in your workspace.
- Account record (email, display name, authentication identifiers).
05
What we cannot delete
We do not control the upstream platforms — once an action is performed there, only that platform can remove it.
- Posts, videos, comments, or images already published to your Facebook page, Instagram account, YouTube channel, or any other platform.
- Activity recorded by the upstream platform's own analytics.
- Backups held by sub-processors past their own retention windows (typically 30-90 days, after which they are automatically purged).
To remove published content, sign in to the platform directly and delete it there. To remove the platform's record of our app's past access, follow the platform's app-removal instructions (Facebook → Settings → Apps and Websites; Google → Account → Security → Third-party access).
06
Tracking your request
For requests initiated by Meta, the confirmation URL we return accepts the tracking code and reports current status (received / processing / complete). For email requests, our reply includes a ticket id you can reference.
