Prepare the shipment
Create an export and enter carton counts and sizes on your PO. CBM and weight are calculated for you, along with CFT and LBS for US paperwork. Pick a product category and the US import document checklist fills in.

Generate a commercial invoice, packing list, KORUS FTA certificate of origin, and proforma invoice as Excel files from your company, PO, and SKU data. Missing values stay blank, never guessed. You can draft them before you pick a run.

Request a spot on a Korean forwarder's run
The Korean forwarder opens a run with its schedule, rate, and pallets left. Compare origin warehouse, destination, cutoff, sailing date, estimated US landed costs, and forwarder ratings, then request a spot in whole pallets, agreeing to the terms and submitting requested details on the same screen. Once the forwarder approves, your spot is confirmed. After you hand over your documents, the forwarder handles receiving, loading, and shipping, a customs broker files the export declaration, and the results show on your screen.

Handoff to the US
Your Korean forwarder names a US partner forwarder for each run, and a run can't be marked as sailed without one. Booking confirmation, loading data, pre-alert, and updates are handed over with timestamps, with a warning if loading data comes in later than 24 hours before loading.

US customs and arrival
The US forwarder records container steps such as unloading, CFS intake, and devanning once for everyone on board, and customs entry, clearance, and release for each shipper. You and the forwarder see the same countdown to the last free day (LFD).

Delivery
Cargo goes to the KWAVE US warehouse or straight to a US destination. For the warehouse, an advance ship notice (ASN) is created automatically on customs release. Before sailing, or after US port arrival until delivery starts, you can request a destination change.

US document checklists by category
Choose from nine categories, including cosmetics, supplements, food, apparel, and K-pop goods, and the checklist flags documents that can hold up customs. New exports carry over registration and label documents from earlier ones.
HS codes and estimated duties
Look up US tariff rates by HS code or product name and see estimated duties for each export. The KORUS FTA rate applies only once your certificate of origin is ready, and rates that can't be read are flagged for manual review.
Declared versus measured
When the forwarder records the measured CBM and weight at the consolidation warehouse, a badge flags any gap from what you declared.

Landed costs before you request a spot
Before you request a spot, check the estimated US landed cost table the Korean forwarder attached to the run.
Estimates in transit, final amounts at delivery
While cargo is moving you see an estimated total. At delivery you see the final amount by item, such as ocean freight, origin handling, export declaration, documents, cargo insurance, and US port and terminal charges, and you get one final-amount notice.
Extra costs only with your approval
A destination change, return, or disposal that costs money applies only after you review the forwarder's quote and approve it. Every change is logged.
Invoices in one place
Forwarders issue an invoice for each export as a PDF, and you pay them directly. KWAVE US warehouse invoices are paid by bank transfer to the account on the invoice.

What is the smallest shipment I can send?
One pallet. You request space on a run in whole pallets and share the container with other shippers. Actual freight is billed by the Korean forwarder from its rate table and the CBM and weight measured at the consolidation warehouse.
Can I ship my cargo on its own, without other shippers?
Check 'Request an exclusive run' when you request a spot, and the Korean forwarder is notified. The forwarder decides between consolidated and exclusive once it sees how much cargo has gathered, and can also open a run reserved for a single shipper.
Is my spot held as soon as I request it?
No. A request doesn't hold a spot; it is confirmed when the Korean forwarder approves it. You see the decision on your board.
Who files customs?
Not KWAVE. Korean export declarations are filed by the customs broker your Korean forwarder works with, and US import clearance is handled by the US forwarder and its broker. The results are recorded on your screen.
Who do I pay for freight?
Each forwarder, directly. KWAVE does not quote freight; the Korean and US forwarders each invoice their leg, and you pay each one by bank transfer to the account on the invoice.
Can I change the destination?
Yes, with approval: from the Korean forwarder before sailing, or from the US forwarder after US port arrival and before US delivery starts. It can't change while the cargo is at sea or once US delivery has started, and a change that costs money applies only after you approve the quote.
