From Korean brands, straight to your warehouse.

For US wholesale and volume buyers that import Korean brands' products in their own name (IOR). Link with brands, nominate your US forwarder, and see customs and destination costs in one place, Import management.

IMPORTER CORE

The US buyer (importer), in three parts.

Link, nominate, and see it all in one place. Everything a direct import from a Korean brand needs, in Import management.

  • Link with brands

A Korean brand finds your company in its Buyers list and sends a link request. Accept it once, and the export cases that brand creates for you show up in Import management as your imports.

  • Nominate your US forwarder

Set a default forwarder once to nominate it on each import in one step, or pick a different forwarder per import. Quotes from the forwarder you nominate come to you, and you see the Routing Order (shipping instructions) on the same screen.

  • Customs and destination costs in one place

Enter your IOR, bond, and POA once in Trade Pass and they show on every import. See an expected total from the quote you chose and the run's expected destination charges, and check invoices issued to your company in Import management.

HOW IT WORKS

One link, and you import directly.

Here are the five steps for a US buyer (importer).

  1. Apply for Trade Pass

Apply as a US buyer (importer), fill in the three fields for IOR, bond, and POA, and upload your Business License and EIN/W-9. You can add one page of customs bond proof or a customs broker POA.

  2. Accept a brand's link

Once you are approved and on a KWAVE plan, Korean brands can find your company in their Buyers list. Accept a link request, and the export cases that brand creates for you show up as imports.

  3. Nominate a forwarder, choose a quote

Nominate your US forwarder on each import. The forwarder opens a nominated run, the cargo is loaded once its Korea partner accepts, and you receive and choose the forwarder's quote.

  4. Korea pickup, sailing, US customs

The Korea partner handles pickup, export filing, and sailing, and the US forwarder clears US customs with a customs broker. Follow all 10 stages on the Progress tab in Import management.

  5. Arrival at your warehouse, destination costs, invoices

Cleared cargo goes to the import's delivery address, your warehouse. See destination costs as an expected total on the Cost tab, and invoices issued to your company on the Invoices tab.

BY ROLE

FAQ

Things you might be wondering

Common questions before you start as a US buyer (importer).

How is this different from US wholesale or US retailers?

US wholesale buyers and US retailers buy Korean products already in a US warehouse from the KwaveGO B2B catalog. A US buyer (importer) imports directly from Korean brands in its own name. One company can hold both.

What are IOR, bond, and POA? What if I don't have them?

The IOR is the importer on a US customs entry, the bond is the customs bond that guarantees duty payment, and the POA lets a customs broker clear goods in your name. Record where each stands in the three fields of your Trade Pass application. If you don't have one yet, mark the bond as none and the POA as none or requested, and arrange the bond and the POA through your customs broker. Repeat importers should use a continuous bond.

Do I have to choose the forwarder?

For imports going straight to your warehouse, you nominate the US forwarder. A brand does not put a nominated import on a public run or choose another forwarder, and its screen shows the forwarder the buyer chose. For nominated cargo going into the KWAVE US warehouse, the KWAVE operations team picks the US forwarder.

Who pays the costs?

When the cost terms are EXW, FCA, or FOB, the importer pays ocean freight and US destination charges (Collect). The Cost tab in Import management shows an expected total from the quote you chose and the run's expected destination charges.

Is there no catalog?

The US buyer (importer) type has no catalog. If your company also holds US wholesale, that type opens the KwaveGO B2B catalog.
